Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo has temporarily assigned DOA director Benita Manglona to the Guam Memorial Hospital to help solve its financial problems. And while GMH already has a chief financial officer with Alan Ulrich on staff, Governor Calvo says Manglona will help boost GMH's financial stability adding she is part of the "stars in his finance team" who helped get this government "out of its financial bind."
"As far as I'm concerned, their CFO is still there and good for him, and he's been doing an admiral job but that doesn't mean that this administration shouldn't be there to help them as well and we do believe with some of our people going there to assist the hospital it will be a plus and it will be gain for the hospital not a negative," he said.
Calvo adds bringing Manglona to GMH is "not an indictment on the quality of management" but part of the administration's total commitment to GMH in terms of resources.
