Guam - Almost weekly the Guam Memorial Hospital is in the headlines for one issue or another, but primarily its because of its flatlining finances. Well they're some changes to report.

According to Governor Eddie Calvo every week the fiscal team's immediate funding priority is GMH. He says there are issues GMH faces that are unique. And "we need to have the very best fiscal support for the hospital, so working with Joe Verga and the board I'm temporarily assigning Benita Manglona to help solve GMH's financial problems."

Governor Calvo's communications director Troy Torres adds "we would like her to solve these problems as quickly as possible because we need her back in the Government of Guam."

KUAM also spoke with Manglona she says she has a soft spot for the hospital because of her own personal experience with care of a family member.  She added she finds the assignment challenging but she's very eager and excited to help the hospital.
