Guam - The National Weather Service says the closest point of approach for Typhoon Vongfong is happening now, although the strongest winds could come within a couple hours of the storm's passage, so residents are asked to remain vigilant.

Areas in northern Guam have recorded gusts exceeding 50 mph this morning, and the NWS issued a flash flood warning for northern Guam, from the Guam A.B. Won Pat Airport to Andersen Air Force Base. Between 2-5" of rain is anticipated over the next three hours. 

Guam can expect damaging winds up to 40 mph with gusts to about 60 mph.
