Guam - According to Guahan Academy Charter School council chair Rosa Palomo they are still reviewing the petition for the iLearn Charter School, which was submitted in July. She says last night a public hearing was held at the proposed campus in Yigo. During the public hearing which was well attended by about 75 people the general public comment is that options are always good as it is up to parents to make decision on where they would like to send their children. She says that meanwhile one member cautioned while we have the options the issues that plague DOE need to be clearly addressed. Palomo says the GACS council has a couple weeks to make determination and that their primary concern is to ensure that a facility is in place so that the charter can start should they approve the petition.
