Pangelinan posthumously given Government Accountability Award

Guam - The Guam Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants recognized the late senator Ben Pangelinan with the 2014 Professor John M. Phillips Excellence in Government Accountability Award. The award recognizes the cumulative achievements of a government professional who throughout their career has served as a role model for others and has consistently exhibited the highest personal and professional standards.
Office of Finance director Ricky Hernandez says Senator Ben was the epitome of a great leader. "His accomplishments and focus for advancing government transparency and accountability cannot be over emphasized and continue to have positive and long lasting effects for ht e lives people of Guam," he said.
Members from Senator Ben's staff, the Guam Legislature and his family were on hand to accept the award. Pangelinan passed away two months ago at the age of 58.
