Guam - It's only in its planning stages but local residents can find comfort knowing local officials are working towards cordoning off an quarantine room at the Guam International Airport.

According to Department of Public Health director Jim Gillan, such planning is not just in preparation for threats such as the Ebola virus, but any contagious disease that could make its way through Guam gates.

Gillan says he met with GIAA executive manager Chuck Ada two weeks ago. The two are considering Gate 11 as the possible location.

Once the location is finalized, the agencies will work with Hawaii officials to determine how to outfit the room as well as how much the project will cost.
