Guam - Before dozens of our first responders and service members, Governor Eddie Calvo this morning proclaimed September as National Preparedness Month. This year's theme is "Be Disaster Aware, Take Action to Prepare" and is a time for Guam to join the nation in reaffirming our commitment to disaster preparedness.
Joint Region Marianas Commander Rear Admiral Bette Bolivar spoke on the island coming together as one team. "One team to promote emergency disaster preparedness and as one community we are all obligated to be prepared not only for our sake but for the sake of our fellow citizens. The partnership we have between the military and the local communities could not be a better example of how we work together to ensure our island is ready for any disaster," he stated.
