Food safety being emphasized next month

Guam - September is Food Safety Education Month and in order to raise awareness the Department of Public Health's Division of Environmental Health has several events lined up starting with a poster contest for elementary students focused on this year's theme "Crack the Code to Food Safety". The deadline to submit entries is September 5th. Followed by a video showing of the winners of the video contest which will be shown in all movie theaters through out the month of September. The winners will also be presented with a $1,000 prize at the Food Safety Fair to be held on September 20th at the Micronesia Mall from 10am to 2 pm. In addition training on the Guam Food Code will be offered on September 9th at the Sheraton this training will be geared towards those in the food industry.
