Guam - A $4 million grant awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration of the Department of Health and Human Services will help fund services for children with disabilities. Project Launch will focus on treating children and families at the Northern Area Community Health Center in Dededo. Now when a child goes to a community health center, a social, emotional, or behavioral screening during the visit can be recommended by a doctor or nurse. The program will use the 'system of care' model to help families as well as the 'medical home' approach to service children. Project Launch is also looking to expand their services to the Southern Area Community Health Center in Inajaran.
