Tropical Storm 11W Named Halong

A Typhoon Watch is currently in effect for Guam and Rota. A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect for all of the Marianas.</span>

Guam - According to the latest weather bulletin from the National Weather Service the system in our region has been named Tropical Storm Halong. A Typhoon Watch is currently in effect for Guam and Rota. A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect for all of the Marianas.
The center of Tropical Storm Halong is located 240 miles E-SE of Guam. It is moving W-NW at 8 miles per hour and packing winds of up to 50 miles per hour. According to the NWS a general concern should be for the possibility of at at least damaging winds somewhere within the Marianas. Island residents are encouraged to start making safety preparations now.
