Guam - The man accused of murdering his estranged wife will head to trial in August.

Emmanuel Cepeda is accused of shooting Emma Catapang Cepeda in the head in February 2013. Four months prior to the alleged murder, he was arrested for beating, kicking, and threatening to kill her and their kids.

Although Cepeda signed a plea offer to plead guilty in both cases that would give him a life sentence with the eligibility for parole after fifteen years, the court rejected the offer.

Jury selection and trial is slated for August 11 with a pretrial conference on August 4.
