Guam - It marked the first time in over a decade that Department of Education received a clean audit on allof its major federal programs.
While that's good news, the Guam OPA did note discrepancies some of which were repeat findings. In a report which reviewed DOE's FY13 finances, auditors found material weaknesses and significant deficiencies in equipment and real property, procurement, financial management, non appropriate funds and budgets.
Some of the other findings included lack of supporting documentation for certain liabilities and lack of control over network activities to name a few. DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez says his agency is continuing to put structures in place to aggressively address the audit concerns.
