Guam - The Guam Water Works Authority broke ground on the third pre-stressed concrete tank this morning. GWA chief engineer Tom Cruz said, "This is part of GWA's continuing efforts to improve the water infrastructure so that we can continue to provide the best service to our customers the completion of this tank will result in additional water storage to address the current demands of our customers as well as growth."


The tank will be constructed adjacent to Barrigada Tank 1 in Latte Heights. The construction will be done by DCK Pacific and will cost over $4 million. The funding for this project is from the 2013 bond monies. Once complete it will be able to hold 2 million gallons of water and is scheduled to be complete in ten months.
