Guam - While some in the island community have expressed disappointment with Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo for her handling of the controversial HR4402, the Calvo Administration today offers its congratulations to the congresswoman for her movement on the military buildup. Governor Eddie Calvo says he applauds Bordallo's tenacity in helping to build a better future for Guam. He says HR4402 is a step in the right direction that allows for discussion to continue on the preservation of the island's natural resources while also allowing the buildup to progress. Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio meanwhile says Bordallo has worked hard alongside the administration to bring the concerns of the people of Guam to our military partners. Tenorio further singles out Speaker Judi Won Pat and Senator Ben Pangelinan saying if they don't want the buildup to happen, they should say so and not dance around the issue. He says, "this community will not tolerate more roadblocks to the military buildup or to progress. The military buildup offers us greater security, more jobs and unprecedented development. Unless Won Pat and Pangelinan can offer those same promises and back them up with results, then I cannot take their rhetoric seriously. No one should."
