Guam - A status hearing has been set on the Guam Legislature's request for a declaratory judgment filed last week with the Supreme Court. The motion was filed by Attorney Julian Aguon on behalf of Senator Tina Muna Barnes. The court action follows on the passage of Resolution 358 that sought the relief over the Legislature's ability through a duly passed law of Guam to direct the Guam Election Commission to place a measure on this year's general election ballot. The resolution as you recall was spurred by the GEC's action to not place Barnes's medical marijuana measure on the ballot. The status hearing will be heard before Chief Justice Robert Torres, Justice F. Philip Carbullido and Justice Katherine Maraman tomorrow morning at 9am in the Monessa G. Lujan Appellate Courtroom.
