Guam - The island community paid their last respects to Department of Land Management director Monte Mafnas today during his funeral services at the Hagatna Cathedral. Mafnas passed away last week after a long battle with cancer.
Governor Eddie Calvo described Mafnas not only as his most trusted advisor on land issues but more importantly, an amazing human being who truly loved the Guamanian people and did everything he could to uplift the poor. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, four children and three grandchildren. Mafnas was 62 years old.
