Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo says the Republican proposal to lower gross receipt taxes is a fair, balanced approach to make this proposed new minimum wage work. In his weekly address, Governor Calvo says the Republican minority's proposal will provide a savings that not only gives businesses some breathing room but will help offset the wage increase or provide leeway to lower prices and become more competitive. As he stated last week, if both proposals make their way to his desk at the same time, he would sign both into law. He says this balanced approach is the right solution to helping our struggling families.
