Guam - The Guam Police Department responded to two separate stabbings over the holiday weekend.
The first one occurred at 9:15 Saturday morning in Agat at a home along Rt. 2 Santa Ana. 25-year-old John Eric Ignacio is accused of stabbing a woman known to him eight times in the back. The 23-year-old victim is in stable condition at the Guam Memorial Hospital. Ignacio was arrested for attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault on a police officer, use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony and terrorizing. The motive for the stabbing is unclear.
The second stabbing also occurred Saturday morning just after 11 o'clock near the "One Plus One Mart" in Yigo. 33-year-old Pedrus Dakanno is accused of stabbing a 31-year-old man known to him in the upper right chest area.
Dakanno was arrested on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, family violence, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, terrorizing and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony. Police confirm alcohol was involved in the incident.
