Guam - It's been with the appropriations committee for almost a year, and now that Senator Brant McCreadie has introduced a new version of his bill to construct a new prison. Committee chair on Appropriations Senator Ben Pangelinan says he's actually been reviewing and analyzing the original bill. Pangelinan sent a letter to McCreadie saying he's found deficiencies with his original Bill 172. He said the fact that McCreadie introduced a new Bill 313 shows he agrees it was deficient. As we reported Senator McCreadie introduced a new version of the legislation, because Senator Pangelinan neither responded to his inquiries on the status of his original bill, but also because it's been sitting in his committee for months even after a public hearing had already been held.  Senator McCreadie told KUAM this afternoon that although he appreciates Pangelinan's letter he should have addressed the issue a year ago when he first introduced Bill 172. He adds even now Senator Pangelinan offers no partnership to work together.
