Guam - It was at the end of January when the Governor's Office submitted the Fiscal Year 2015 executive budget proposal to the Guam Legislature. And according to Bureau of Budget and Management Research director John Rios within the past few months there have been a number of meetings with the Office of Finance & Budget along with the governor's fiscal policy team.

More meetings are set for next week. "Right now we're calling the executive line agencies, we'll be meeting them briefly to go through and prepare them for any budget hearings that may occur in the next two or three months," he explained.

The executive budget calls for total revenue projections at $863.8 million. Rios says the budget is an increase from the current fiscal year due in part not only to economic growth in tourism but hundreds of millions of dollars in construction and military activities. OFB meanwhile has since posted the budget proposals submitted by the Government of Guam line agencies and semi-autonomous agencies on its website.
