Guam - The Attorney General's Office is requesting more time to review Bill 280 relative to hate crimes.

At this morning's public hearing Chief Deputy Attorney General Phil Tydingco says although they support the concept, they will need more time to vet possible legal issues.

Tydingco notes that ethnic or racial bias does exist with many who are underserved or underprivileged unfairly blamed for larger problems.

The legislation creates a special allegation for bias motivated crimes.
