Guam - A new youth resource center is in the works for the Department of Youth Affairs courtesy of the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority. GHURA has already constructed two youth resource centers "Haya" in Agat and "Lagu" in Dededo.

Director Michael Duenas said, "This resource center is called the 'kattan' or central resource center so when this center is completed DYA will have three regional resource centers to provide services to their clients."

Right now DYA is operating out of a multi-purpose facility in Toto Gardens which limits their ability to serve all clients in the central area. According to Duenas last week GHURA's board gave authorization to negotiate a contract with Orion Construction Company and if all goes well groundbreaking will be in May.
