Fire chief presents several awards in Inarajan

Guam - Fire Chief Joey San Nicolas presented several awards at the Inarajan Fire Station this morning, including the award for Firefighter of the Year to Firefighter Brian Meno.
"We recognize that one individual that standout amongst the 300 personnel at the Guam Fire Department and this person is somebody is unquestionable when it comes to integrity and unquestionable when it comes to his desire to serve and unquestionable when it comes to give everything that they got," he said.
Meno has been with the fire department for over twenty-two years. He comes from a family of firefighters. His father was a former chief and his two brothers are also firefighters. "I love the job because it's rewarding people can be in their worst state and you come in here try to calm them down try to give them comfort of course and you take care of them from there it's rewarding to know that you did your very best to try to do something for that individual whether their sick injured or in distress from a fire," he said.
The entire Inarajan Fire Station was recognized for their service and commitment to the southern community. The fire chief said the station is part of his vision for fire stations across the island to be the center piece of every village.
