Guam - A delegation from Guam is currently in Miami, Florida attending the cruise industry's premier global event. Cruise Shipping Miami 2014 has been the leading international exhibition and conference aimed at bringing together more than a thousand members of the cruise industry for a week of networking, sourcing and education. Micronesian Cruise Association's Gerry Perez tells KUAM that the Guam delegation consists of representatives from the Guam Visitors Bureau, Guam Economic Development Authority, the Port Authority of Guam and Senator Tina Muna Barnes and Vice Speaker BJ Cruz. Barnes is representing the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures whereas Cruz is representing the Mariana Islands Legislature Association. It was late last year when MILA held its first general assembly on Guam where officials discussed developing and promoting a cruise industry in Micronesia. The conference takes place between March 10 to the 13th.
