Guam - A port equipment operator II may have been arrested back in September but he still has his job and has been reassigned to the Deputy General Manager's Office. Paul Babauta Santos was arrested last year for allegedly falsifying documents after damaging a government official vehicle.  He was still within his probationary status at the time of his arrest.

Port general manager Joanne Brown would not discuss the arrest or confirm whether any action was taken against Santos because it is a personnel matter. She did confirm that Santos is assisting with the environmental permit requirements for the Port.  The GM maintains Santos has expertise and background in that area and the assignment is for a couple of weeks.

Santos has two brothers who are managers at the agency and who are also the subject of a nepotism complaint filed with the Civil Service Commission.
