Guam - The Guam Memorial Hospital is set to receive $1.3 million in Meaningful Use funds.

According to GMH administrator Joseph Verga, these funds won't be used for billing, but for clinicians as they move forward with an electronic system which will result in better coordination between physicians and fewer errors.

"This has really been a true team effort and a great example of what Team Guam can accomplish when we work together. I'm really delighted to announce this today. I believe we should be receiving the funds shortly that they've been certified and signed off on," he said.

Verga thanks GMH chief financial officer Alan Ulrich, GMH's IT staff, and the Department of Public Health for teaming up to make the incentive payments attainable.
