30 Agana Heights Elementary teachers file grievance over pay
by Krystal Paco
Guam - Teachers at Agana Heights Elementary School are moving forward with filing grievances following the implementation of the Hay plan, and its affects to their steps or years of experience.
According to Attorney Daniel Somerfleck, about 30 teachers have started step one of four of the grievance process as required by the Department of Education.
As we previously reported, Somerfleck raised similar concerns at a Guam Education Board meeting held last month resulting in the board's vote to suspend the Hay pay throughout DOE. Following advice from their legal counsel however, DOE continued to implement Hay.
