Tropical disturbance developing near Chuuk

The disturbance, which is expected to become a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, is located just less than 500 miles southeast of Guam and is moving westward.

Guam - The National Weather Service is keeping a close eye on a disturbance that is developing northwest of Chuuk. The disturbance, which is expected to become a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, is located just less than 500 miles southeast of Guam and is moving westward.  According to the NWS considerable uncertainty exists in the exact path and intensity of this tropical system, however the Marianas should expect periods of showers and thunderstorms beginning Friday.
