Guam - Following its board's approval, the Guam Election Commission is moving forward with the bid process in purchasing new election equipment. GEC executive director Maria Pangelinan says a subcommittee has been formed to oversee the process. And this past weekend, the GEC hosted a pre-bid teleconference with potential bidders.

"In the teleconference it would give a chance for the potential bidders to ask other questions, to add on to the written questions, so these questions will be answered and will be published and sent out on the website," she told KUAM News.

She says the questions were more related to the process as opposed to the specifications of the equipment. The deadline for submission of bids is set for March 14. The matter will further be discussed during this Thursday's regular board meeting. We should note during this same meeting, commissioners are expected to also discuss its legal counsel's opinion on the medicinal marijuana measure.
