Guam - A confidential informant led police to the EconoMart robbery suspect. Jeremy Laitan Cruz is being held on $750,000 cash bail. The Dededo man appeared via videoconference this afternoon. He is accused of robbing the owner of EconoMart at gunpoint last Thursday and running away.
According to court documents, police interviewed a woman who said she loaned Cruz a black Airsoft gun and allegedly confessed about the robbery and stealing less than 200 dollars in cash.
The woman said Cruz exchanged the money for a quarter of a gram of crystal methamphetamine.
Cruz faces charges of robbery, kidnapping, terrorizing and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony. A preliminary hearing is set for February 24.
