Guam - With no public hearing scheduled yet on legislation he introduced two months ago, Senator Tommy Morrison is asking the governor step in and issue an executive order. Bill 238 was introduced in December to reinstitute discovery day as a holiday. The bill would make the first Monday in March a holiday.   Discovery Day was eliminated as a holiday because of fiscal constraints. According to Senator Morrison because the Legislature has not scheduled a hearing, it appears Discovery Day may come and go again uneventfully unless the chief executive steps in. If the governor issues an executive order the holiday would kick off Chamorro Month. Bill 238 is co-sponsored by Senator Chris Duenas.
