Father & daughter plead guilty in housing fraud case
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - Another member of the Guam Air National Guard has admitted to submitting a bogus lease agreement to illegally obtain an overseas housing allowance while she was on active duty. Cassie Hernandez admits that she submitted a false real estate lease agreement prepared by her father, Claudio Donato, in 2010 and received more than $15,000.
Court documents indicate that she lied about paying more than $1,800 in rent to live at her father's home in Santa Rita. She admits that she used $950 for herself while the rest went to her father.
Donato also pleaded guilty today to conversion of government property admitting that he directed his daughter to submit false rental documents to the government.
Both are scheduled to be sentenced on June 2.
