Guam - Nine clients receiving benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as food stamps, and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program have been disqualified.

According to a release from the Department of Public Health, reasons for disqualification ranged from failing to report the loss of a family member, failing to report employment timely, and another for exchanging benefits for cash.

Eight of these clients will be ineligible to receive benefits for a year for their first violation while one will be permanently disqualified for their second violation.

Their benefits totaled over $14,000.
