Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo has appointed Darryl Taggerty to serve as the next station manager of PBS Guam. According to deputy press secretary Phil Leon Guerrero, Taggerty brings decades of experience both in government management, telecommunications and public broadcasting.

"So he'll bring a wealth of knowledge to the table, he certainly has served the people of Guam in a number of capacities under a number of different elected leaders so we really know he knows what public broadcasting is from start to finish - at the heart of it, it's about transparency and information and education," he said.

Taggerty was recently the acting chairman for the Democratic Party of guam. Leon guerrero says many cabinet and senior staff members are prominent Democrats and this appointment goes to show that regardless of political affiliation, Governor Calvo believes in talent in people who are serving the people of Guam to the best of their ability.

Taggerty replaces Cathy Gogue who left PBS to work with the Employers Support of the Guard and the reserve. Taggerty meanwhile still has to be confirmed by the Guam Legislature.
