Supreme Court will vote on new chief justice

Supreme Court of Guam justices will meet behind closed doors on Friday morning to decide who will be named the new chief justice for the next three years.

Guam - Supreme Court of Guam justices will meet behind closed doors on Friday morning to decide who will be named the new chief justice for the next three years.  Chief Justice F. Philip Carbullido's term expires and he will return to the bench as an associate justice.  

Associate Justice Robert Torres and Katherine Maraman are eligible for election. If she is elected she would be the first female to serve as chief justice.

An announcement will be following the selection and the next chief justice will take the oath of office during a hearing on Tuesday morning.
