Guam - The Guam Police Department's Criminal Investigation Section has launched a homicide investigation into the death of a 23-month-old baby. According to police spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajadia medics had responded to a report of a non-responsive toddler at a home in Yigo on Saturday afternoon. 

The baby girl was brought to the Guam Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead just before 1pm. Chief medical examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola conducted an autopsy this afternoon and confirmed that foul play was involved. 

No arrests have been made and according to Balajadia interviews are currently being conducted.
