Police make arrests in Spice investigation

Guam - Two men were arrested in connection with an undercover sting operation into the sale of Spice, a synthetic form of marijuana.  Chris Kipas Tipingeni and Gandova Selet were arrested on Friday afternoon and charged with delivery of a Schedule I Controlled Substance.

As we reported, police conducted a raid at the Hemlani Apartments in Harmon on Friday afternoon.  Tipingeni was also charged with possession of a schedule one controlled substance.  

According to court documents, law enforcement conducted a series of undercover buys at the parking lot of the apartments.   Undercover officers drove up to the apartments and purchased spice from several male individuals.  The magistrate's complaint states that Tipingeni admitted to selling spice on behalf of another person at the complex.  

Selet admitted he also sold Spice and provided a detailed history of his use and trafficking of spice out of the apartments.  He told authorities he made between $50-$80 a day selling spice at the apartments.  A third individual was also arrested but later released when officers found his leg appeared to be gangrenous and posed a medical threat to himself and other detainees. His name was not released.  

On Thursday federal and local law enforcement authorities executed search warrants at The Smoke Shop in Tamuning and Gallop USA at the Micronesia Mall where agents found a large quantity of Spice and an estimated $100,000 in cash.  

There have been no details of an arrest from those raids.
