Guam - The Guam Power Authority has started rolling out its final 5,000 smart grid meters to customers in parts of Central Guam. The advanced digital meters are part of the utility agency's initiative to provide upgraded meters that will provide accurate electricity consumption for customers. Funding for the smart grid meters are from the authority's 2010 revenue bonds with matching Department of Energy grant funding on a dollar-for-dollar basis.
Meanwhile, customers with smart meters can register with the MyEnergy website to monitor power consumption.
