Guam - Legislation that aims to empower the Department of Education to take back funds withheld by Governor Eddie Calvo and direct $4 million to Simon Sanchez High School and other school repairs is up for public hearing tomorrow.

While Bill 235, introduced by Senator Ben Pangelinan questions a reported $9 million withheld in this fiscal year's reserves for DOE, Calvo argues otherwise stating that his administration's track record speaks for itself evident by the paying out of tax refunds, increments, and merit bonuses.

"I think this administration has done a pretty good job in regards to managing the finances. So as far as I'm concerned Senator Pangelinan's questions he's been pretty much been against every decision that this administrations made from January first of 2011 when it came to us proposing a fiscal stability plan," he said.

The public hearing kicks off at 2 p.m. at the Legislature's Public Hearing Room.
