Guam - The Department of Education could receive millions for repairs and renovations of Simon Sanchez High School if Bill 235 passes into law.

Introduced by Senator Ben Pangelinan, the legislation aims to release a portion of DOE's Fiscal Year 2014 budget currently withheld in reserve. According to a release from his office, this reserve equates to $22 million which Pangelinan says hurts our public school students, teachers, and administrators.

Bill 235 also limits the amount of DOR's budget that can be put on reserve to 3%.

With the release, $4 million will be directed to the Yigo school.

As we've been reporting, pending projects include repairs to the roof parapet, tin awnings, and air conditioning ducts.
