Saipan hosting Micronesian chief executives
Guam - The region's most powerful elite are set to gather in Saipan this week for the 19th Micronesian Chief Executive Summit. CNMI governor Eloy Inos will host this year's summit between December 4 to 6 with the theme "With the Sea, We Are One."
The MCES is composed of the chief executives from the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federal States of Micronesia and the territory of Guam. The Governor's Office confirms that Governor Eddie Calvo will be in attendance.
The primary purpose of the MCES is to coordinate and implement regional strategies to assist its member jurisdictions in areas such as health, workforce development, energy and invasive species.
Guam hosted the MCES last year.
