Guam - The Guam Memorial Hospital's new Critical Care and Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department is officially opened. The units have been undergoing expansion and renovations over the past year and are now bigger, nicer, and more modern. The $7.5 million expansion allowed for new features and amenities in the CCU-ICU Unit, which now has 14 beds, and two larger isolation rooms which will allow for more patients to be cared for.

Meanwhile the first phase of the ER renovation has been completed with upgrades such as two state of the art trauma rooms, twelve monitored examination stations, and two isolation rooms. With the completion of phase one of the ER the second phase will begin with the closure of the old ER to allow for further renovation and expansion.
