Toxicology reports pending on teen that died in crash

Guam - 18-year-old Rafael Joaquin died from multiple injuries he sustained in a serious car crash earlier this month.  Medical examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola says an autopsy confirms that Joaquin had multiple injuries. 

The teen, who was from Barrigada, spent nearly two weeks in the hospital before he passed away last Friday.

Espinola says he is still waiting on toxicology reports to determine if Joaquin was under the influence at the time of the crash. Joaquin old had been driving a Hyundai Tiburon with four passengers when they collided with another car. 

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
