GUAM -  It's the island's number one industry and they're celebrating with an anniversary gala tonight at the Sandcastle.
According to Guam Visitors Bureau general manager Karl Pangelinan, this is only the beginning as they look forward to 50 more years of success in tourism.

"We  are going to be celebrating our 50th year by hosting a gala in which we invited many of the pioneers - the people who have paved for tourism for the past 50 years, the people who have really taken a chance on Guam as a tourist destination."

Pangelinan reports that although Japanese arrivals have slightly dipped, GVB continues to see incredible numbers out of Korea and Russia, in line with their efforts to diversify the visitor markets.
