Guam - It may be months until Liberation Day festivities but residents will soon see plenty of activity on carnival grounds in Tiyan.
According to Mayors Council of Guam executive director Angel Sablan, the site will be converted into a weekend night market.
Although the original opening date was set for this weekend, opening is likely to be closer to Christmas.
"We're still working on it," he explained. "This weather has just not cooperated with us at all. 0650 every day we get calls about people wanting to join. It's going to happen. It's just the weather has delayed us. But it will happen."
As we've been reporting, from installing power lines to adding pavement, too much was invested in the Tiyan property to have it sit idle until next year's carnival in July.
