DPW hoping to purchase more buses
To date, DPW director Carl Dominguez says the bus count is at 125 when ideally, DPW would need 175 buses to transport over 30,000 public and private school students daily.
Guam - In a matter of days, the Department of Public Works will begin procurement for new school buses. To date, DPW director Carl Dominguez says the bus count is at 125 when ideally, DPW would need 175 buses to transport over 30,000 public and private school students daily.
If procurement starts soon, Dominguez hopes to order a minimum of a dozen 60 passenger buses, which could arrive in time for the start of next school year. "It takes roughly seven to eight months to the start of procurement to when the buses land on Guam to get the buses," he said.
$2 million in Department of the Interior money will fund the purchase.
