Guam - It's been years in the making and it appears that officials are nearly ready for phase one of the Tiyan Parkway to get underway.  Public Works director Carl Dominguez says the money is available for the project to finally begin, telling KUAM News, "We have $1.8 million appropriated by the Legislature to do it and because of that we are expecting to sign an MOU with the GIAA and Federal Highway and FAA and Governor's Office within week a week or two and after we sign it we are expecting the airport authority to release the property," he said.

Phase I of the Tiyan Parkway will begin at Cars Plus in Maite and extend past the old GPD buildings however the federal aviation and the airport required that DPW have funding to secure properties needed for Phase II of the project.  With that issue now addressed and the MOU pending, Dominguez says they may be able to go out to bid shortly.
