Guam - Dozens of participants from nurses, doctors, and EMTs put their skills to the test at this morning's pediatric triage disaster drill. Simulating an active shooter incident at the Agana Heights Summer School Program, EMS for children program manager Marlene Carbullido says the health professionals are preparing for the real thing.
She said, "They're going to learn to work as a team because as you all know we don't have that many ambulances so real time means people are going to be waiting around for transport so in the meantime, what do you do if there's no ambulances available and you've got children in front of you who are seriously injured."
The training is just one of the objectives of an EMS for children grant.
