Guam - The U.S. Navy has decided to postpone public meetings related to the Mariana Islands Training and Testing Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Overseas Environmental Impact Statement. The postponement comes as the federal government shutdown remains in place.
Public meetings were scheduled to be held on Guam, Saipan, Tinian and Rota next week. While the meetings will be rescheduled, public comments will still be accepted during the government shutdown. The Draft EIS/OEIS was prepared by the Navy to evaluate the potential environmental impacts associated with military readiness training and testing activities within the MITT study area.
