Guam - The Guam National Wildlife Refuge is closed due to the federal government lapse in appropriations.  As a result of the federal shutdown, 22 units of the National Wildlife Refuge System will be closed in the Pacific.  The closures come as officials were preparing special events for National Wildlife Refuge Week that begins on October 13th.

There will be no public access to the Guam Wildlife Refuge and workers have been furloughed until an appropriation is passed.
